Well I guess it was a matter of time until it came my turn to have a go on photographing this new amazing building. The one and only Royal Opera House Muscat. Many photographers had a go with it, and I have seen several of them floating around facebook and what not. Anyway below are my versions. Firstly, let me know what you think by commenting below. Secondly I am thinking of conducting a workshop at this place in particular, so let me know if you are interested?.
First thing first, a quick history lesson. The Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) is Oman’s premier venue for musical arts and culture. It is scheduled to open on October 14th, 2011, with a production of the opera Turandot, conducted by Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo. The opera house is located in Shati Al-Qurm district of Muscat, Oman. Built on the royal orders of Sultan Qaboos of Oman, the Royal Opera House reflects contemporary Omani architecture, and has a capacity to accommodate maximum of 1,100 people. This opera house is first in the world equipped with Radio Marconi’s multimedia interactive display seatback system, Mode23. The opera house complex consists of a concert theatre, auditorium, formal landscaped gardens, cultural market with retail, luxury restaurants and an art centre for musical, theatrical and operatic productions.
