And I don’t mean your camera POP flash, I hate them and you should. What I mean by finding a light source is that, you shouldn’t give up when you are in situation where your camera capability cant cope with unavailability of enough light.
Recently, a family of mine decided to have a dinner at this restaurant called “Love at first bite”, located in Shatti Qurum, Muscat. Very nice and tasty food, and I took my Leica M9 with me, and for those who know leica M9 Camera, its very hardcore manual camera and with not so good iso capability. The maximum I can go with it is 2000.
Anyway, the restaurant lack light big time, so I used whatever available light I could get. I used my sister “SAMSUNG NOTE” mobile, with its flash feature to beam the light towards the subject. And also I used the nearby lamps as a composition and as well for a light source
The moral of this story, you are the photographer, get it to work and dont give up. Below are the photos, your comments always appreciated

Leica M9, Leica M9-P, Leica 50mm Summilux, A:1.4, S:1/25, ISO:800
Light Source: Samsung Mobile Flash Beam

agreed 110% 🙂
btw the vignette effect is intentional to keep the subject in focus to teh viewer or it’s an effcet of low lighting ?
Thanks Sanjoy. I love Vignette, but also depends on the light source, not all vignette comes the same. the above was nice because the light was not good enough on the side, so adding the vignette gave it a better composition in my opinion
got it ! thanks.
great shots. amazing use of available lighting…….good thought
Thanks bert very kind of you
Flash ruins originality in the photo, great shots
Thanks shad. Only the pop flash on your camera. But the flash heads that are being sold separately are very nice and worth the investment
Does the high ISO cause a lot of noise?
Saffiya. If you are referring to the leica m9. Yes anything above 2000 iso the photo has too much noise. But still sometime useable
Great shots
Thanks Asma
