Thanks to Heather of  theduncanadventures.com. In one of her Blog topics, she mentioned about this beautiful place in the middle of Muscat, where you can enjoy a wonderful hike, with nice old forts and as well the famous old water irrigation  system what we call them “the Falaj”, all this you can find, in Bawsher believe it or not. Finally I got the chance to visit it today, with the amazing cloudy weather we are experiencing the past couple of days, the light was just perfect.  Enjoy the Photos and let me know what you think about them (Below also Direction how to get there)

How to Get There

Coming from the direction of the Grand Mall, pass by the Dolphin Village on your right, at the roundabout with MPH go straight ahead. At the next roundabout with the lanterns take a right turn. At the next roundabout near the Olympic sports place take a left. Head along that road as the streets get narrower and you are on Way 6525,. You see a wall on the left with palm and banana trees behind it so you know you are on the right route as the falaj is watering them. Once you are there, follow the Sign “MAQHAM BAIT”, thats the old fort I am talking about.

  1. Hey Salim,

Lovely photos of Bowsher thank you!
Salim, I have been trying to get in contact with you about the 24h week-end adventure and also I am desperate to team up with amateur photographs for exactly that type of excurtions…. Could you recommend photo clubs or just individuals that might be interested in meeting for days out and about in and around Muscat?
I am a french lady staying in Muscat with my husband and my little girl. I do not work and my camera has been in its bag, in the cupboard, for the last 6 months. What a pity eh? I just find it a bit intimidating to get out there on my own….
Thanks very much for getting people like me together.

    • Dear Olivia,

Thanks for the comment. To answer your question, I am too facing the same problem. I too have problems getting the time to go out for a photo shoot. I used to do that long back, but my day job caught up with me. Sorry for now I can’t help, let me think of something, maybe I can gather my followers to initiate some sort of Photography outing club

  2. Fantastic photos Salim! I’m so glad that you were able to find it and enjoy with your family.

  3. Hi Salim,
I would be interested in joining a group of people doing a ‘photo walk’ now and again.
    Regards,
    Nigel.
