PS/ For those who wonder which camera I used. I used the Leica M9, with 50mm Summilux, all Taken at Aperture of 1.4 with ISO of 800

Nine Members in the Family, with a Total income of RO 150 (390 USD), of which Half of it goes to Bank Loan,  and around RO30 (90 USD) goes to Utilities, leaving them with a mere RO 50 (180 USD) to live with. Is that even Possible????. This is the case of a Wonderful Woman called Um Idris. The Husband Abu Idris retired recently, at which their lives change to worst, I would say Rock Bottom.

They Live in a House located in Wadi Kabir, of which it belongs to Um Idris Family inheritances, her share its a mere Two bedroom and Two toilets. Creatively, to make it into a liveable home, she turned One bedroom into a Sitting room and turned One Toilet to A Kitchen. Sadly though, we couldnt distinguish which room is which, you would notice a Cooker in the middle of a sitting room, and some cooking pans inside a toilet!

Her kids consists of Three boys and Five Girls, of which the eldest being the Girl and she is married and living with her husband, in more or less the same poor condition. Idris is her eldest son, who just turned 18, sadly though, he failed his high school, and such situation who can blame him, and now he is looking for a job. He was their hope, but when only things could be better, it became worst

Its funny, being an Omani and living only four hours away from Dubai and yet for the past two years since I started photography, I don’t have a single photo of Dubai. Well, I cant claim that anymore. Couple of weeks ago, myself and family decided to go for the weekend. As usual, for a good photographer, preparation is a must. So I did a quick research of good scenic areas, and as well angles. Mostly googled the location. Trust me with Dubai, you need to make sure where you are going, or you will end up stuck in traffic.

(1) Shaikh Zaid Road

This photo was taken on top of Sheraton hotel. Believe it or not, its an HDR. It was three different photo at different exposure. I love doing night HDR, most of the time I get good result. But it was not as simple.

There was these Rail guards that stopping me from getting a good angle. You know the rails the stops a person from falling off a 43 storey building. But I just had to have it, so I connected the camera on a tripod, and using the tripod I slipped the camera below the rails, and with great difficulties I manage to get the right angle and here are the results.

(2) Burj Khalifa: Tallest Building in the World:

The difficult part for the Burj is getting a good angle. Simply because its really tall and getting it in its full glory is kinda challenging and to compose it in such away the frame is balanced even more challenging. So a good photographer will take an extra step. In my case, I had to beg for a permission to enter this building opposite of the Burg. The building is only allowed for its resident and once need to sweet talk the security guard just to enter, but well worth it. And the best thing, I got just in time for my favorite time of the day, Blue hour followed by a night shot.

Thats it really. Thats two days worth of photo shoot. So you just imagined if this was not planned, even worst. Remember its not the quantity of the photos, its the quality. In 1992 Sultan Qaboos directed that his country of Oman should have a Grand Mosque. A competition for its design took place in 1993 and after a site was chosen at Bausher construction commenced in 1995. Building work, which was undertaken by Carillion Alawi LLC^[1] took six years and four months.

The Mosque is built from 300,000 tonnes of Indian sandstone. The main musalla (prayer hall) is square (external dimensions 74.4 x 74.4 metres) with a central dome rising to a height of fifty metres above the floor. The dome and the main minaret (90 metres) and four flanking minarets (45.5 metres) are the mosque’s chief visual features. The main musalla can hold over 6,500 worshippers, while the women’s musalla can accommodate 750 worshipers. The outer paved ground can hold 8,000 worshipers and there is additional space available in the interior courtyard and the passageways, making a total capacity of up to 20,000 worshipers.
